Activities & entertainment at Whitchurch House residential care
Whitchurch House encourages a stimulating and fulfilling social life, providing a varied programme of activities and supporting hobbies and interests, whilst respecting each individual’s personal preferences.
Full time dedicated Activities Co-ordinators organise a varied programme of daily activities and entertainment which are open to all to partake in, if they wish. Throughout the year, various trips and visits are also organised outside the Home.
On a more personal level we operate a ‘Key Worker’ system where each resident is allocated a named Carer (if they wish) who acts as a friend and assists them in living a normal life as far as possible.
This may be by keeping in contact with the outside world, inviting friends to visit, arranging personal shopping, helping to read or write letters or maybe remembering a card for that special occasion. It’s the little things which make a difference and our Key Worker system creates a closer bond between residents, relatives and staff.
The Cinnamon Trust and Pets
We support The Cinnamon Trust, a charity who help elderly people stay with their pets or find new homes for them if their owners are no longer able to cope. With the discretion of the Management Team, suitable pets may be accommodated by arrangement and visitors are always welcome to bring their dogs to visit if they are well behaved and under control and have a liking for the odd biscuit or two.
"My mother has been a resident at Whitchurch House for nearly four years and has been cared for to the highest standards. I am always welcomed when I visit twice a week. Mum is very happy and enjoys her regular walks in the locality. She enjoys activities and trips out from Whitchurch House".
