Your residential care needs at Whitchurch House
Whitchurch House supports an active and fulfilling lifestyle wherever possible, we encourage people to live their lives, their way. Every person is treated as an individual and encouraged to have choice in all aspects of their life and care. Whitchurch House is their Home – a caring place to be comfortable, safe and relaxed.
Support from others
Support and friendship are always on hand within the home and as part of our ‘Open Door Policy’ we welcome family and friends to visit or stay in contact any time. Hairdressing, manicures, chiropody, daily newspapers, telephone access, the Internet etc. all make daily life that bit more convenient in a calm environment which is comfortable and caring where people can continue to live their normal daily lives with dignity, respect and privacy, supported with the highest standards of care.
Personal Care Plans
Personal Care Plans are developed, identifying needs and ensuring appropriate care is provided. Care Plans are regularly monitored and reviewed to allow for changing situations, with guidance and input from the resident, their family, GP’s, District Nurses and Specialists (Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Opticians, Dentists, Chiropodists etc).
Quality Assurance, Management and Staff
In response to our Quality Assurance questionaries, we have purposely kept Whitchurch House to a manageable size, feedback tells us that large homes are often institutional and impersonal places with high staff turnover. Whitchurch House was established over thirty years ago and has the advantage of being privately owned and not part of a large group operated from head office. It is run by a very experienced ‘hands on’ Management Team who are totally focused and dedicated to our residents, their relatives and friends. All Care and Domestic Staff are locally sourced and well trained, offering care and support 24 hours a day. Staff turnover is very low, leading to consistency of quality care, friendship and trust between carers, residents, their families and friends. For this reason we do not use agency staff.
"The staff and management have looked after my 89-year-old mother with care, compassion and consideration throughout the onset of Alzheimer’s. The management are always at pains to inform and improve mother's Care Plan. Whitchurch House is not too large so does not feel like an institution and is well maintained with good facilities and good food".
